Meeting Agenda

  1. The leader of the meeting asks everyone to sit and then reads the Welcome Introduction.

  2. The leader asks everyone to stand and recite an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.

  3. The leader then says, “Let us hold a moment of silence for those sinners who are outside this room and are still struggling for freedom.”

  4. The leader then asks all to sit and offers for someone to read the 12 Steps.

  5. The leader proceeds to announce the step of the meeting and reads the literature chosen by the priest corresponding that step.

  6. The leader then says, “If we have any newcomers who would like to introduce themselves to the group, please raise your hand at this time.”

  7. The leader asks if there are any volunteers to share how the reading impacted them and the sins they struggle with. At the end of sharing, attendees stand and recite the Serenity Prayer.

  8. After the formal meeting, participants may stay for informal conversation and fellowship. This can help newcomers feel more connected and supported.

Welcome Introduction

Sinners Admitting It is a fellowship of adult male parishioners and RCIA candidates who meet regularly to share their experience, strength, and hope with each other so that they may overcome habitual sin and help others on their journey toward spiritual renewal. Sinners Admitting It is allied with the universal Catholic Church and derives all definitions and remedies of sin as those outlined by the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is not a place where the teachings of the Church are debated, but rather assumed to be affirmed by all attendees. Our primary purpose is to overcome sin and help others do the same by deepening our relationship with God and one another. Cross-talk, defined as directly commenting on someone else’s share, is strongly discouraged, other than when acknowledging a shared struggle. Sharing is to be focused on the individual’s experience, rather than advice being given.

Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen.
